Bunta Beats is een festival waar mensen uit verschillende culturen elkaar ontmoeten. Een dag met muziek en dans uit alle werelddelen, leuke workshops en lekker eten en drinken. Een gospelkoor, een Syrische dansgroep, Oekraïense vluchtelingen of een Nederlandse band: deze feestelijke dag brengt ze allemaal bij elkaar.
Muziek, een taal die iedereen begrijpt, is zo waardevol
Voor groot en klein
Het feest heeft zijn oorsprong in Oosterheide, waar veel mensen met verschillende culturele achtergronden wonen. De wens is dat alle inwoners van Oosterhout het festival omarmen. h19 zorgt samen met haar Brede Buurt partners voor een afwisselend programma. Naast muziek, dans en verschillende workshops, kun je ook ‘shoppen’ bij de culturele markt. In de kramen verkopen buurtbewoners en lokale ondernemers kleding, sieraden, accessoires, instrumenten of andere producten uit hun cultuur.
Herkenning en verbinding
Het idee is ontstaan uit het project Leer zingend Nederlands. Een fijne manier voor mensen uit andere taalgebieden om Nederlands te leren. De Syrische, Congolese, Koerdische en Albanese Oosterhouters haalden veel meer uit deze bijeenkomsten dan alleen een taalcursus. Zij leerden hun buurtgenoten kennen en konden hun ervaringen delen die zij opdeden in een nieuw land. Dat zorgde voor herkenning en verbinding. En van daaruit kwam het idee om een cultureel wereldfeest te organiseren.

De derde editie van Bunta Beats vindt plaats zondag 25 juni 2023 tussen 15.00 en 20.00 uur in Floralia Park, Beneluxweg 63, Oosterhout. Toegang tot het festival is gratis.

Bunta Beats is a festival where people from different cultures meet. A day with music and dance from all over the world, fun workshops and good food and drinks. A gospel choir, a Syrian dance group, Ukrainian refugees or a Dutch band: this festive day brings them all together.
For everyone
The party has its origins in Oosterheide, where many people with different cultural backgrounds live. It would be fantastic if all residents of Oosterhout embrace the festival. h19 provides a varied program together with its societal partners. In addition to music, dance and various workshops, you can also ‘shop’ at the cultural market. Local residents and local entrepreneurs sell clothing, accessories, jewelry, instruments or other products from their culture in the market stalls.
Know your neighbors
The idea originated from the project Learn Dutch while singing. A great way for people from other language areas to learn Dutch. The Syrian, Congolese, Kurdish and Albanian Oosterhouters got much more out of these meetings than just a language course. They got to know their neighbors and were able to share their experiences in a new country. That led to recognition and connection. And from there came the idea to organize a cultural world festival.

The third edition of Bunta Beats will take place on Sunday, June 25, 2023 between 3 and 8 p.m. in Floralia Park, Beneluxweg 63, Oosterhout. Entrance to the festival is free.
